For over a decade, rapper Brodie Fresh has remained Hip-Hop’s dark horse, a lyrical underdog whose collaborations and legendary cosigns span longer than most artists’ discographies. However, the days of Brodie Fresh playing in the shadows are over. Long Island’s son is geared to hit new levels, as he embarks on the next chapter in his career. The world’s most Popular Stranger is ready for takeoff. Buckle up.

Born in Queens, yet raised in Elmont, Brodie’s musical journey began in the church, playing drums in the worship band. “I started playing drums around the second grade,” he recalls. With his father being a pastor, secular music was often a luxury in Brodie’s household, often hanging out with his favorite younger aunt who put him onto to artists like Ja Rule. “I didn’t want to be a rapper at first,” he admits, “musicwas just something I did in the church band.” Basketball was his first love, playing from elementary school to the end of high school, with dreams of the NBA. He later enrolled in the University of Hartford, and during that first semester at school, he began experimenting with music on a different level. By the end of the semester, Brodie was forced to drop out once the bills piled on, with no financial aid in sight. “I had just started pursuing music,” he recalls, “so I was kind of going hard trying to figure out what that looked like.” He used his music as his vessel to channel everything going on in his personal life, his familial life, and the streets. His skills were apparent, asBrodie released a series of loosie cuts and small projects that fanned the flames of his regional popularity. In the Spring of 2013, he dropped his single “Sound The Alarm,” featured on VH1’s The Gossip Game, which later parlayed into Brodie touring with both Cory Gunz and King Los by that Summer. The following Summer saw back to back viral moments, as Brodie collaborated with Troy Ave on “Bout That” and the late Chinx Drugz on the infectious “What They Talkin’ Bout” (grabbing Maino for the remix).

Over the years, Brodie Fresh has bettered himself with every new level he’s hit. His singles have spanned across major radio stations, and he’s toured with the likes of the late Nipsey Hussle, Danny Brown, Kid Ink, Boldy James, Chris Webby, Mozzy, and Griselda’s finest Conway the Machine and Benny The Butcher to name a few. In 2022, Brodie released “We Black And We Proud,” a poignant track with a viral video clip that portrayed him under the boot of the law. His fame only grew from there. 2024 was a monumental year as well, as Brodie collaborated with Jim Jones on “Money Ain’t A Thing,” Mozzy on “Hard Knock Life,” Maxo Kream on “Toast,” and Boldy James on “Boldy Fresh.” If there is one word to describe Brodie Fresh, it’s prolific.

His next moves are his best moves, with more projects and tours on the horizon, all while keeping true to the authenticity and balance of the streets, the boardroom, and of course the studio. “Since the beginning of my career, I’ve always made what I call life music about what I was going through and my struggles,” he advises. “I’ve owned it, because we often get lost in the identity of what we actually feel good doing and what can make us successful. My music can do both.”
